Headteacher Appointment

Important Dates for Rowhill School

Headteacher's Welcome

headteachers image I would like to extend a warm welcome to The Linden Education Centre’s Website. We strive for all our students to achieve success and enjoyment in education during their time with us. The Centre serves up to 100 pupils with a range of educational needs. We are going through very exciting times as our new build is reaching completion and we are preparing to move onto the new site in the west end of Aldershot. With the move, we will also be changing our name to Rowhill School and as a school we will prioritise academic outcomes for our students that allow them to move on to post 16 destinations. The resilience and social skills gained while students are with us will support them to complete their chosen pathways.

At The Linden Education Centre we pride ourselves on our successful track record. We believe in giving pupils a fresh start in which they are able to build a strong foundation to set them on the right track to strive for excellence, as well as fostering compassion, moral responsibility and a sense of justice in each member of the school. We provide an effective quality of teaching and learning and strong pastoral care in our safe, disciplined, stimulating environment. Our approach offers increased opportunities and encourages and better enables our pupils to take an effective and active role in society. We believe in our motto of “Respect, Achieve, Succeed” and our curriculum is designed to unlock the potential in our pupils to achieve this.

We believe that a ‘Personalised’ approach best serves the needs of our pupils and this means that we treat pupils as individuals and we carefully tailor our provision to meet their needs. Historically we have always been a good school, and our most recent OFSTED Inspection (July 2013), reconfirmed this. We have grown from strength to strength and in the last 3 years we have developed towards delivering an outstanding model of education to our students, including using personal profiles, data tracking and a strong behaviour for learning policy that empowers students to understand their own learning.

Keeping Children safe in Education is at the core of our practice and in our new school we will be introducing a school uniform so that our students can be identified in the community. We will also have a dining hall and outside dining areas so that all students will remain in school all day and will not need to leave site for lunch. As a school we are part of the multi agency network that ensures that we support our students in all areas of need in order to secure their academic outcomes and future pathways.

Please free to contact us if you have any queries, I look forward to seeing you at our review days at the new school site in September.

Best wishes,

Urmilla Choubae

Headteacher
